Day Treatment Program
"I love our staff's united efforts toward the healing process, and our passion to offer something
different for the lives of our patients. It is so wonderful to see patients blossom into whole persons."
Lisa Petersen, Ph.D.
Program Director
Summit's goal for the Day Treatment Program is to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where participants can continue to work toward emotional and physical well being. We believe that Day Treatment is an alternative to residential care. It allows patients to receive intensive, medically-supervised treatment while being able to stay close to family and friends who can play an important, supportive role in the recovery process.
The Day Treatment Program is designed to provide comprehensive and compassionate treatment by staff who have specialized training in the treatment of eating disorders and genuinely care about recovery. Because of the intensity of services offered by Summit, our Day Treatment Program is an alternative to residential treatment for many patients. We offer free housing for clients who live out of the area in order to further enhance their recovery process.
Day treatment participants engage in a structured treatment program 9 and 12 hours each day, Monday through Friday, which includes:
- Individual Psychotherapy
- Family Psychotherapy
- Group Psychotherapy
- Psycho-educational and Experiential Groups
- Daily Medical Monitoring
- Collaborative Treatment Planning
- Psychiatric Evaluation and Weekly Follow-Up Sessions
- Physician Evaluation and Weekly Follow-Up Appointments
