Reaching Out to Our Community

As a non-profit organization, SEDOP relies on the support from individuals, businesses, and other organizations to fund our programs and services. Financial gifts to SEDOP are tax-deductible and go directly to help one of the following programs:

  • Scholarship Program. SEDOP established the Scholarship Program to assist individuals and families who would not be able to obtain treatment without financial assistance. Contributions to our Scholarship Program go directly to assist qualified applicants fund all or part of their cost of treatment.

  • Education and Prevention. SEDOP provides educational materials and interactive classroom lessons on body image, healthy eating and media literacy for local schools. Faculty and administrative trainings are also provided free of charge to enhance school personnel’s knowledge of identifying disordered eating habits and promoting healthy attitudes about eating and weight in schools.
  • Resources. SEDOP publishes a quarterly newsletter and Resource Guide that are distributed to professionals and community members who are dedicated to the prevention and treatment of eating disorders. These publications are also distributed free of charge to local schools and community organizations.
  • Professional Development. SEDOP hosts symposiums and seminars for mental health professionals who are interested in developing and enhancing their skills in the assessment, prevention and treatment of eating disorders.
