Meet our Medical Team

Because the process of recovering from eating disorders can cause physical symptoms and medical complications that are potentially life threatening, patients being treated at Summit are monitored onsite by our medical team consisting of our nurse, physician and psychiatrist, all of whom are experienced in the treatment of eating disorders. Proper medical monitoring and intervention are essential components of recovery. Summit is the only medically-supervised, comprehensive treatment program in Sacramento, California, serving both adolescents and adults with anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder.

Jamie Olivo, RD
Manager, Nutrition Services
Jamie Olivo is a Registered Dietitian with five years experience and training in the treatment of eating disorders. She has extensive experience in the inpatient and outpatient setting incorporating the principles of intuitive eating to aid in developing life long changes in relationships with food. Her goal is to provide nutrition education and counseling that is well rounded and individualized to help patients overcome eating disorders and create a balanced life with food outside of the structured setting.

Elise Kuiken, RN
Nurse Manager
Elise Kuiken has been working in the field of eating disorders since January 2009. Elise graduated from nursing school in 2008, joined Summit Eating Disorders and Outreach Program as Nurse Manager, and is dedicated to helping patients who struggle with eating disorders. Elise works towards providing the best care possible for patients. As Nurse Manager, Elise has worked with clients in all areas of Summit including the Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient Program. In 2011, Elise assisted in developing policies and procedures to ensure continued patient safety and helped in the process of obtaining accreditation from the Joint Commission.
